To keep things simple, we charge per tape regardless of length, format, or content*. Choose the service level that suits your needs:
Standard Service – £20 per tape

Premium Service – £28 per tape
• Brightness, colour, and contrast enhanced.

• Optional bokeh layer for widescreen TVs.

Notes on Pricing
*Tape Length: Our standard price covers up to 2 hours of footage per tape. If a tape happens to run longer, extra time is just £5 per additional hour. Don't worry if you don't know the tape lengths—we will automatically check them and contact you with a final price before charging you anything extra.
† DVD Discs: To ensure the highest picture quality, we choose the right disc for your recording length. Tapes up to 1.5 hours cost
£5 per DVD. Longer tapes (over 1.5 hours) require a high-capacity disc and cost
£8 per DVD.
‡ USB Drives: To give you the best value and maximum storage space, we only supply high-speed, modern USB drives starting at 64GB (£20), 128GB (£26), or 256GB (£38). A single 64GB drive offers massive space and can easily hold up to 10–15 hours of your converted family videos!
Editing Services: Custom menus, captions, background music, or advanced video edits are charged separately.

Standard VHS Tapes

The large, classic black tape used in home video players throughout the 80s and 90s.
VHS tapes were the standard home video format for decades, storing countless priceless family recordings. However, magnetic VHS tape degrades over time, causing colours to fade, audio to muffle, and playback jitter. Transferring your old VHS tapes to digital MP4 or DVD preserves these valuable recordings for future generations before they become unplayable.
VHS-C (Camcorder Tapes)
Identification Tip: 📼 Looks exactly like a regular VHS tape, but shrunk down to about the size of a deck of cards.
Designed specifically for compact handheld camcorders, VHS-C tapes required a special plastic adapter cartridge to play back on a standard home VCR. Because these tapes are small, their delicate internal reels are highly susceptible to dust, mould, and tangles. Our West Yorkshire studio uses professional calibration equipment to safely digitise VHS-C camcorder tapes directly to modern formats.
Hi8, Video8 & Digital8
Identification Tip: 📼 Exactly the size of an audio cassette tape, but with a plastic protective flip-top lid on the top edge.
Sony's 8mm tape family (comprising Video8, Hi8, and Digital8) dominated the camcorder market for family holidays and birthdays. Because these tapes use an ultra-thin magnetic layer, they are highly sensitive to moisture and loft humidity, which causes the film layers to stick together over time. We specialise in safely unspooling and converting all 8mm camcorder variants to high-definition modern files.
MiniDV Tapes

Tiny, matchbox-sized plastic tapes featuring a small clear window on the front.
MiniDV was an incredibly popular digital tape format introduced in the late 90s, offering sharper resolution than older analog tapes. Because they store data digitally, a malfunctioning tape can experience sudden "pixelation" or total blue-screen dropouts rather than a slow fade. Digitising MiniDV to digital preserves that crisp digital bitstream perfectly onto a modern USB stick without any loss in original video quality.
