MiniDisc to CD & USB Conversion Service
Preserve your recordings stored on MiniDisc by converting them into modern digital formats. At Milfords Digital Studio, we professionally transfer MiniDiscs to CD or USB, making your audio easy to listen to, share, and safely store for the future.
MiniDiscs often contain important recordings, family voices, personal music, interviews, or live performances and we treat every disc with care and respect throughout the digitisation process.
Why Convert MiniDiscs to Digital?
Popular throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, MiniDiscs were the go-to format for high-quality portable audio. Over the years, local musicians, audio creators, and music fans across West Yorkshire have trusted us to rescue a massive variety of irreplaceable recordings, including:
Live Band Gigs & Bootlegs: Unique live concert recordings, pub gigs, and festival sets captured straight from the sound desk or crowd.
Band Demos & Rehearsals: Early track ideas, bedroom studio sessions, and local band practice recordings that only exist on a single disc.
Radio Broadcasts & Mixtapes: Late-night radio shows, DJ sets, pirate radio sessions, and personal music compilations from the turn of the millennium.
Interviews & Spoken Word: Student journalism projects, voice notes, field recordings, or family interviews captured on portable recorders.
One-Off Home Studio Tracks: Personal music projects, instrumentals, or vocal takes recorded before the era of modern laptops.
Every disc holds a unique piece of personal or local musical history. Whether your MiniDisc contains a long-lost band demo, a legendary live set, or rare broadcast audio, we handle each disc individually to capture and preserve the absolute best sound quality possible.

💬
Frequently Asked Questions About MiniDisc Conversion
What file format will my digital audio files be in?
By default, we convert your MiniDiscs into high-quality MP3 files (great for phones, tablets, and general playback) or uncompressed WAV files (best for musicians who want the absolute highest archive quality).
Just let us know your preference when you drop off your discs—there is no extra charge for either format.
What is your average turnaround time?
Most standard MiniDisc orders are completed within 7 to 14 days.
Because we transfer your audio in real-time to preserve the original recording quality, larger collections or discs requiring advanced Premium track-splitting may take a little longer.
We will always give you an accurate time estimate during our handover.
What happens if one of my MiniDisc is completely blank?
We operate a strict "no audio, no fee" policy. If we test your discs and find one contains no recordings, you will not be charged a single penny for it.
Can I play the converted audio files on my smartphone?
Yes, absolutely.
The MP3 files we supply on your USB drive are universally compatible with most modern smartphones.
Once you receive your media back from us, you can easily plug the USB into a computer to upload the files to your personal device, or transfer them to your own cloud storage (like iCloud, Google Drive, or OneDrive) to listen on your phone.
