Mini DVDs are physically smaller discs commonly used in older video cameras and often contain unique, irreplaceable footage.

Unfinalised Discs & Playback Issues

Some camcorder-recorded DVDs and Mini DVDs were never finalised, meaning they may not play in standard DVD players or computers.

Where possible, we can:

  • Finalise discs using appropriate equipment

  • Extract video data using specialist recovery software

This process is included as part of our Premium service where required.

Digital video files can be supplied on a USB memory stick at an additional cost. USBs are ideal for storing, backing up and sharing your converted videos.

• Storage guidance:

 ◦ One hour of video footage typically requires around 4–5GB of storage (depending on format and quality).

 ◦ Each USB stick can hold multiple video files, making them suitable for several DVDs, Mini DVDs, camcorder tapes or home movies.

• Choosing the right size:

We’ll always advise on the most suitable USB size based on the file size, video length and number of discs, so you don’t pay for more storage than you need.

USB delivery is a convenient, long-lasting alternative to DVDs and is compatible with most computers, smart TVs and media players.
